It looks like buyers aren’t gobbling up Paula Deen’s estate in Savannah, GA. The property came to market in early 2015 for $12.5 million. The price was reduced to $10 million in September, and has now settled at $8.75 million.

Riverbend—Southerners love to name their properties—sits high on a bluff overlooking the Wilmington River. It comprises 5.5 acres, 300 feet of water frontage, and lush landscaping.

The custom-built, French Caribbean–style main house measures over 14,500 square feet and includes two kitchens. The latter detail isn’t surprising because Deen is the grande dame of Southern cooking.

Deen’s main kitchen is classic country and sports a huge range with a copper hood. The second kitchen, which is outdoors, has three grills, a smoker, and four refrigerators.

The family room boasts a saltwater aquarium and an aviary—the celebrity chef loves parrots. And the master suite features a huge bath with sitting area, french doors leading to a private terrace, a custom walk-in closet, and a dressing room.

Riverbend also includes two guest cottages, a 10,000-square-foot barn, an eight-car garage, and a dock house. Other luxe features include an Imax-quality movie screen that pops up over the pool, creating a “dive-in theater”; a stocked pond; and a croquet court.

With the price on Deen’s place plummeting, it’ll be interesting to see whether a buyer steps up or the chef slices the price some more to get a buyer to bite.
