While he’s not in Arizona preparing for another Major League Baseball season, free agent Coco Crisp is still making moves in the desert. The California desert, that is.
The former Oakland A’s outfielder is still looking to hit a grand slam in Rancho Mirage, CA, and sell a $10 million resort of a home. By comparison, his latest real estate venture in the Coachella Valley is akin to a double in the right centerfield gap.
The distinctively named outfielder recently listed a second home in the city—and it’s much more affordable. The smaller home hit the market for $1.9 million, or about $8 million less than his 5-acre property a baseball’s throw away.
Given the price difference, you’d expect a marked contrast between the two properties. But the new listing, measuring over 8,500 square feet, is by no means a slouch. Crisp had listed the home as a rental in 2014 for $8,500 a month.
It features four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, and its location lends itself to spectacular mountainside scenery, according to the listing. It has an open layout, and a step-down living room with see-through fireplace.

Highlights in the master suite include a sitting area, wet bar, fireplace, and bathroom wing with wet and dry closets. The home’s bathrooms are lined with granite and marble and come equipped with powder rooms and spa tubs.
Additional interior amenities include a designer kitchen with separate prep area, a breakfast nook, and a cool master retreat. Outdoors, there’s a rock waterfall that overlooks the pool and spa.
Crisp’s larger estate is still available: The 4.8-acre property has a miniature baseball diamond, lake, swimming pool with grotto, and tennis court. It measures nearly 18,000 square feet and has seven bedrooms. Reports show Crisp bought the home for $7 million in 2013.
Crisp finished last season with the American League champion Cleveland Indians—who memorably lost the 2016 World Series to the Chicago Cubs. The A’s traded Crisp to the Indians midway through the season after six years in the San Francisco Bay Area. The 15-year veteran is a career .265 hitter with 130 home runs and 309 stolen bases.
