The reigning National League batting champion has another hit on his hands.

Colorado Rockies second baseman DJ LeMahieu purchased a hot home in Birmingham, MI, about six miles from where he won back-to-back state High School Player of the Year awards before becoming an MLB All-Star.

LeMahieu purchased the place in December 2016 for $1.35 million. The home on the property was originally built in 1920, but it underwent a complete overhaul.

The new construction offers 2,900 square feet of living space with an open floor plan, which is perfect for entertaining. The terrace looks out to a private backyard surrounded by trees.

The bedroom suites are on the upper level, with the master featuring a luxurious bath and his-and-her walk-in closets. The basement has a mudroom and an additional bedroom with a full bath. The home also has a walk-in pantry, custom cabinetry, and stonework throughout.

LeMahieu’s rise to stardom began in 2014, when he won the National League’s Gold Glove at second base. His solid play rolled over to the 2015 season, when he made his first All-Star team.

After hitting no higher than .301 in a single season, LeMahieu came out of nowhere and won the National League batting title in 2016. He hit an insane .439 in August and .363 in September to finish the season with a robust average of .348. He’s in the final year of a two-year, $7.8 million contract.
