His NFL uniform now bears the blue and red of the New England Patriots, but when it comes to home, a former Oregon State Beaver has put down roots in the Pacific Northwest.

After three seasons in New Orleans and a recent off-season trade to the defending Super Bowl champs, Brandin Cooks returned to Oregon and purchased a Portland mansion in mid-December.

The speedy wideout bought the three-bedroom, three-bathroom home for $2.85 million. The property was previously sold for $700,000 in 2010, when it appeared to be tear-down. It’s now a new 3,831-square-foot mansion on a 1-acre lot.

The mansion features many luxury upgrades, including grand-scale rooms, black walnut trims, smooth-finish walls, a chef’s kitchen with solid-surface counters and island, and a poured-concrete staircase enclosed in glass.

The resort-style master bedroom is on the main level and comes with an art wall, his-and-her closets, and a spa bath. The lower level features a wine cellar, home theater, and gym with access to a sport court.

Outside, there’s a kitchen, living space, solar-heated saltwater pool, and concrete fire pit.

Cooks was a first-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints three seasons ago. After a couple of solid seasons in the Big Easy, in which he caught 226 passes for over 3,300 yards and scored 26 touchdowns, he was traded to the Pats.

Cooks appears to be proud of his new manse—it’s made a couple of appearances on his Instagram page.
