Former San Francisco Giant J.T. Snow is set to release his Truckee, CA, home. The six-time Gold Glover’s vacation getaway is on the market for $1.6 million.

This four-bedroom, 3.5-bath, 3,750-square-foot mountain retreat sure looks like a home run. Built in 2007, the stunning home has a long, high-ceilinged foyer, a massive kitchen with pantry, and a dining area that will fit all your friends, family, and even unexpected guests.

If you don’t want to drag your skis into the house, we’re sure that they’ll fit just fine in the “huge, three-car garage.” There are also multiple walk-in closets and plenty of built-in storage throughout the home.

The family room has a vaulted ceiling and fireplace. The home’s other notable features include hand-scraped maple wood floors, century-old Amish hand-hewn beams, and a wine room.

When the weather is warm, you can entertain family and friends outdoors on a new patio and deck and take in that fresh mountain air.

Just because you head for the hills doesn’t mean you have to hang up your 9-iron. The retired player looks to have traded in his baseball glove for a golf cart. The home is located on the eighth hole of Gray’s Crossing golf course, which must have been a fun change for the first baseman who spent nine seasons with the Giants.

Although he’s retired from playing, Snow is still with the team. He moved to the front office in 2006 as special assistant to the general manager.  But fans may recall one of his most memorable moments during the 2002 World Series, scooping up a 3-year-old batboy out of harm’s way as he crossed home plate.

All of those memories can be replayed in slo-mo in the Truckee home’s media room, which also has built-in bunk beds that can sleep as many as “10 plus,” according to the listing.

You’ll need the room for lots of sleepovers, given that this fabulous spread is in the middle of ski heaven, close to ski resorts, and surrounded by snowy peaks.

Whatever the season, this rustic yet contemporary vacation spot has plenty of reasons to be your home base.
