It looks like “Spider-Man” star Tobey Maguire isn’t simply sitting around brooding over his recent split from his wife of nine years, Jennifer Meyer. Maguire plopped down almost $13 million on a newly constructed mansion in Brentwood, says Yolanda’s Little Black Book, a Hollywood real estate blog.
Located in the high-priced and quiet Brentwood Park, the new digs are described as modern traditional and feature six bedrooms and 7.5 baths. The three-level home has two brick chimneys, light oak floors, and vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom that includes his-and-her bathrooms.
The chef’s kitchen contains teal, Shaker-style cabinets and flows into a family area. The backyard has an infinity swimming pool and inset spa. Other wow factors include the theater, gym, wine cellar, and elevator.

The property last changed hands in April 2014 for $3.98 million. Since then, it’s been a construction zone as this new spec home was built.
Maguire has a love affair with Brentwood. He bought an acre of land there for $10 million in 2008. In 2014 he bought a mansion from former talk show host Ricki Lake for $8.45 million; he sold it a year later for $10.4 million.
Maguire also has a compound in Santa Monica, CA, that he recently listed for $3 million. It’s now pending sale.
Maguire is best known as the web-spinning title character in the “Spider-Man” film trilogy. He also starred in “Seabiscuit” and “The Great Gatsby.”
