Neurotic funnyman Richard Lewis is parting ways with his longtime residence, a Mediterranean-style villa in Los Angeles, for $1.56 million. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, the 2,508-square-foot home is chic and cozy with two bedrooms and two full bathrooms.

Built in 1926, the home has been in Lewis’ property portfolio for over 30 years. It previously belonged to actor Eddie Albert, who starred in the TV show “Green Acres.”

“It’s a super convenient location with lots of views and lots of character,” says listing agent Peter Maurice, who’s with Rodeo Realty in Beverly Hills. As to why Lewis is selling, Maurice says the 69-year-old comedian simply “wanted a change.”

The house features what is being advertised as a “penthouse level” master bedroom with an office, sitting room, and city views.

Lewis is best known for his stand-up comedy specials and a variety of movie and TV appearances. We’re hoping he’ll be back to play an exaggerated version of himself on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which is set to return with a long-awaited ninth season in 2017.
