The most expensive new listing on realtor.com® this week is easy to miss. It’s a large slice of paradise hidden away in Key Biscayne, FL.

“You go down the street, and it just looks like hedges,” says listing agent Billy Nash. “The essence of the property is truly the privacy. It can only be seen by water or by air.”

A buyer will pay dearly for this secret getaway—the $36 million price tag is not for the faint of heart or thin of wallet.

The 67,000-square-foot compound landed on the market last year with no takers, disappeared for a bit, and popped back up this week.

The pricey property is a rare opportunity for the island, which is only 5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide.

“It is the largest lot that can be developed in all of Key Biscayne. You can split it in two,” Nash says. “It’s an open canvas for the right buyer.”

The canvas is already a pretty picture.

“It almost feels like you’re in a subtropical park,” Nash says. The Mediterranean-style nine-bedroom, 10.5-bath home surrounded by lush landscaping comes with a large courtyard and covered patio. Inside, the space boasts vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, along with “beautiful tile,” Nash says.

“It has a very Caribbean feel. The style of the home is very relaxing,” he adds.

To further help you relax, consider the 16-seat screening room, gym, sport court, saltwater pool with spa, 700-foot-long private beach, and two docks for both your fishing boat and your yacht. There’s also “plenty of room to land a helicopter.” You can easily set sail for the Caribbean, play tennis, fish, or simply lie on the beach.

Basically, if you’re bored, you’re doing it wrong. Or maybe, you’ve got it just right. The seller has owned the property, one of many, as a family retreat for over 20 years. “He’s ready to pass the torch,” Nash says.
