Baltimore Orioles legend Cal Ripken is putting his 24.3-acre estate in Maryland up for auction, after an earlier sales attempt struck out. There’s no reserve price on the Reisterstown mansion, and the auction will take place on the premises in early May.
The slugger had put the home up for sale in mid-2016, a few months after his divorce, with an asking price of $12.5 million. Seven months later, he trimmed the price by $2.75 million, and in August he pulled the listing off the market.
Custom-built in 1985 and renovated in the late 1990s, the 21,890-square-foot home has six bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and numerous high-end amenities befitting a big leaguer.

Ripken is a Maryland native who played all his 21 seasons with his hometown Orioles. Nicknamed “The Iron Man,” Ripken holds the record for most consecutive major-league baseball games played (2,632), and helped his team to a World Series victory in 1983. He is a 19-time All-Star, and was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007. Over his career, Ripken batted in 1,695 runs and hit 431 home runs.
