Actor Robert Downey Jr. recently picked up a $3.5 million mansion in Malibu’s 90265—the ZIP code he shares with his on-screen alter ego, billionaire inventor Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.

In the “Iron Man” movie franchise, Stark owns an over-the-top, cliffside mansion on Point Dume that would easily be worth north of $100 million if it actually existed (the filmmakers digitally created the home).

Downey’s new home is located about 15 minutes south of Point Dume, near Pepperdine University, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The 3,384-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bath home was built in 1972 on a 1.3-acre lot. Its most striking feature is a floor-to-ceiling—and wall-to-wall—sliding glass door that extends from the living room to the glass-enclosed balcony overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

The open-concept living room flows into the kitchen, which is anchored by a trapezoidal island mirroring the room’s shape. There’s a Viking gas range with a glass-tiled backsplash, a sink with a stone backsplash, and open shelving. A free-standing breakfast bar seats three.

Off the kitchen is a formal dining room. The bedrooms all open to either the backyard or the balcony. The bathrooms have been upgraded, including one with floor-to-ceiling, blue glass tile. Elsewhere, there’s an outdoor kitchen, putting green, exercise studio, black-bottomed pool, whirlpool spa, and cabana.

The home hit the market in early May for $3.95 million, and Downey closed on the house in less than a month.

Downey, 52, has been on a real estate shopping spree. He and his wife, Susan, reportedly closed on a $10.5 million, windmill-shaped home in East Hampton, NY, earlier this year.

He’s currently one of the highest-paid actors in Hollywood, according to Forbes. The former child actor grappled with drug addiction in his 30s, but later achieved sobriety and restarted his career as Iron Man. He’s also appeared in “Weird Science,” “Tropic Thunder,” and Guy Ritchie’s reboot of “Sherlock Holmes.”
