“Today” anchor Matt Lauer has had a tough time unloading his Hamptons estate. On the market for more than a year, the property had another price slice, according to Behind the Hedges.
The Sag Harbor, NY, home, situated on 25 acres, was listed for $18 million about a year ago. The price was later reduced to $17 million; it’s now down to $14.9 million.
The estate, with lush landscaping, features an 8,000-square-foot, two-story home with six bedrooms, six baths, an eat-in kitchen with center island, and great room with cathedral ceiling and wood beams.

But it’s the exterior that takes your breath away. The rhododendron-lined driveway leads to a fire-engine-red entry door. The backyard features terraced lawns and formal English gardens, a heated gunite pool with pool house and wet bar, and Har-Tru tennis court.
Lauer listed this property last July after buying the Strongheart property from actor Richard Gere.
Gere also struggled to sell Strongheart. He drastically reduced the initial list price of $65 million to $36.5 million in May 2016. Lauer then closed a deal in short order last summer.
