Actress Jennie Garth has put her 4,100-square-foot home in Studio City, CA, on the market for $4.5 million. Avid HGTV fans will immediately recognize the house: Its renovation was the subject of the 10-episode 2014 series “The Jennie Garth Project.”

Garth bought the single-story ranch house for $2 million in 2013, largely for its unobstructed views of downtown Burbank. It was originally built in 1978, and looked as if it hadn’t been updated at all before Garth bought it—the rooms were dark and closed in, with low ceilings and a few oddly shaped rooms.

Working with contractor Scott Harris, Garth largely stripped the house down to its studs and opened it up, with a clean, contemporary design. Garth put in large windows in virtually every room, ordered an 800-square-foot addition for her daughters’ bedrooms, and put a tall clerestory in the kitchen, to allow in more natural light.

The results are impeccable.

Walking up to the five-bedroom, five-bath house, guests step on floating concrete slabs over a koi pond and waterfall to reach the entrance. The front door is made of a single sheet of heavy glass that pivots effortlessly.

The large, open-concept living room has a pair of huge sliding glass walls that open to the backyard, pool, and the Burbank skyline beyond. Potterheads will appreciate that the house is located on a hill above Universal Studios, with a perfect view of the Hogwarts Castle in the distance.

The living room has a custom floating fireplace, and a bar area with a neon pink “Mudflap Girl” sign.

Just off the living room, the kitchen has sleek custom cabinetry that hides the pantry and refrigerator. There are white marble countertops, with a marble backsplash behind the electric stovetop. Garth created a sliding glass pass-through to the outside, with an outdoor counter that comfortably seats six.

The bedrooms are each sleek and minimalist, with either large windows or sliding glass walls to the backyard.

Hands down, the most impressive room in the house is Fiona’s. Garth’s youngest daughter, who was 8 when HGTV wrapped filming on the series, has a room with a rock-climbing wall, monkey bars, and a firefighters’ pole, for making a quick exit out of her custom lofted bed.

Outside, there’s drought-tolerant landscaping, a 90-foot-long, zero edge lap pool, putting green, and an in-ground trampoline.

Garth, 46, found her breakout role as the spoiled, wealthy high schooler Kelly Taylor on “Beverly Hills 90210,” which ran for 10 seasons, from 1990 to 2000. She appeared in the subsequent spinoffs “Melrose Place” and “90210,” made it to the semifinals of season five of “Dancing With the Stars,” and later appeared on her own reality TV show, “Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country.”

In April, Garth’s third husband, Dave Abrams, filed for divorce. The couple had been married for three years.
