Sports agent Scott Boras has built a business and reputation on scorched-earth negotiating tactics that earn his clients millions. Now the ace baseball agent is renting out his lovely home in Newport Beach, CA, for just under $9,000 a month. We wish the best of luck to anyone willing to try to talk him down on price.

After all, Boras is the guy who recently ripped Major League Baseball’s Florida Marlins, calling the team a “pawnshop” after trading his client, outfielder Marcell Ozuna, to the St. Louis Cardinals.

But once you take a look at the 4,000-square-foot beauty basking in the California ocean air, you’ll likely want to sign on the dotted line—negotiations be damned.

The home has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, along with gorgeous views of both the ocean and canyons, a well-equipped kitchen, formal living and media room, and a master suite with two-sided fireplace warming both the bedroom and bathroom areas. The master suite is also accompanied by a dreamy deck.

His agency, Boras Corporation, is headquartered in Newport Beach, so Boras could have his eye on new digs in the area.

According to Forbes, Boras is the “most successful athlete advocate in the history of sports,” and is the “only agent in the world with more than $2 billion in active player contracts.”

Boras’ most famous negotiation was the 10-year, $252 million deal he secured for Alex Rodriguez in 2000 with the Texas Rangers—at the time, the largest ever for an MLB player.

But if you imagine Boras as the kind of guy itching to enter into relentless negotiations over almost any topic, he told the New Yorker in 2007 that nothing could be further from the truth.

“People call me from the outside world all the time—they want me to negotiate everything,” Boras said. His power, the article suggests, is in his relentless attention to details and fine print.

So if you’re lucky enough to lease the beautiful Boras home, double-check the paperwork and do an extra walk-through before you move in. Boras isn’t a guy who plays around when it comes to closing a deal.
