Retired baseball Hall of Famer Mike Piazza and his wife, Alicia, are trading their Tuscan-style villa on Sunset Island for something a bit more authentic. The former catcher has listed his mansion in Miami Beach, FL, for $18.5 million to focus on his new passion, fútbol.

Piazza purchased the majority share in Italian soccer team AC Reggiana last year, according to ESPN.

“Mike and his wife, Alicia, bought a soccer team in Italy and are now spending much more time in Italy,” says Luciana Padula, spokeswoman for listing agents Jill Hertzberg and Jill Eber, when asked why the Piazzas would part with the stunning waterfront property.

“It’s impeccably finished and perfect for raising a family and entertaining,” Padula says of the villa. It has “100 feet of water frontage on the coveted Sunset Islands, which are in the heart of Miami Beach and walking distance to the best beaches, restaurants, and shopping.”

The interiors manage a delicate balance between substantial and light, but above all, they’re comfortable, which isn’t easy to pull off on such a large scale.

The chef’s kitchen is outfitted with top-of-the-line appliances, Jerusalem stone flooring runs throughout the interior, and the home features smart home technology.

It’s no surprise the interiors are something special, according to the Wall Street Journal. Alicia Piazza is a contributing editor for Haute Living magazine. As she worked on the home’s renovations, she told the Journal she wanted to give it “more of a sense of humor.”

According to records, the Piazzas purchased the home in 2008 for $10 million.
