An MMA fighter famous for his submission holds is hoping to lock in a potential buyer.
UFC Hall of Famer and jiujitsu master Royce Gracie has placed his home in Torrance, CA, on the market for $1.6 million. The three-bedroom, three-bathroom home, which Gracie purchased in 2008, is located near his many jiujitsu academies.
One of the house’s many highlights is the way it brings the outdoors in with its skylights and walls of glass, with their views of the outdoor gardens and sparkling pool with spa.
There are new and refinished hardwood floors throughout the home. The kitchen features marble countertops and custom self-closing cabinets and drawers. The kitchen opens to a family room with fireplace and more views of the backyard. A formal dining room is adjacent.

The master bedroom also has views of the backyard and pool. The master bath features a walk-in shower and custom tile work.
It can be argued that Gracie single-handedly put the UFC on the map when the promotion first rose to fame in 1993. His epic wins at UFC 1, 2, and 4, and his battle at 5 are etched into the memory of MMA fans.
Gracie was the first person ever inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame. During his MMA career, Gracie posted a 15-2-3 record, including 11 straight victories—all by submission.
The fighter made news in 2015 when the IRS sent his family a Notice of Deficiency claiming they owed $657,000 in back taxes and $493,000 in penalties for civil fraud.
He returned from retirement in 2016 to exact a bit of revenge on Ken Shamrock after they fought to a draw at UFC 5. Gracie won by TKO at Bellator 149, and rumors are swirling the MMA legend is flirting with a bout against Matt Hughes, a two-time UFC welterweight champion.
