Martha Raddatz, ABC’s globe-trotting correspondent, and her husband, NPR newsman Tom Gjelten, have paid $2,125,000 for a vintage home on a coveted block in Arlington, VA.

The four-bedroom, four-bath home sits on a beautiful half-acre lot that is about 15 minutes (minus rush-hour traffic) from downtown Washington, DC. The house was built in 1900, when wealthy Washingtonians kept weekend getaways in Arlington.

The previous owners, who bought the house in 2006 for $1.16 million, renovated the home and nearly doubled its size to 5,400 square feet, says listing agent Anne DiBenedetto, of Washington Fine Properties.

“They kept the leaded windows in front,” DiBenedetto says. “It had a ton of character and beautiful street presence.” The sale was completed in January.

Raddatz, ABC News’ chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” has covered it all for the network: national security, foreign policy, the Pentagon, the State Department, and the White House. She served as a moderator in the second presidential debate of 2016, between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

She has been embedded with U.S. forces during a dozen trips aboard, and is the only TV reporter allowed to fly in an F-15 fighter jet on combat missions over Afghanistan, according to her ABC biography.
