We’ve seen pricey paintings, antiques, and custom furniture wrapped into a property’s sale price to entice buyers. In certain affluent locales, sellers are even tossing in expensive cars and concierge service.
But we’ve never seen anything like the 19th-century highchair once used by John Kennedy Jr. which is packaged with this $1.15 million condo in Palm Beach, FL.
The antique is a sweetener to a deal for this two-bedroom, two-bath beach pad that’s only 10 minutes away from Mar-a-Lago. Owner Courtney Begel is throwing in the highchair, for which her husband paid $85,000 at an auction of Jacqueline Kennedy‘s belongings in 1996.
“There was nobody like the Kennedys,” said Tom Begel, “If this were Bess Truman’s stuff being auctioned off, you wouldn’t get nearly the excitement.”

“The chair is oak with red velvet,” says Realtor® Kevin Dickenson, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Realty. “It’s also a potty if you remove the velvet seat—it has a glass canister that attaches to the bottom.”
Dickenson was also eager to talk about the virtues of the 1,900-square-foot condo, which has a long balcony and spiral staircase that reaches the pool deck. Other amenities in the complex include a gym, tennis courts, ocean views, and a pristine beach nearby.

“The majority of condos on Palm Beach were built in the ’60s to ’70s, and most of them are original inside,” Dickenson says. “It is very rare to find recently renovated condos on the island. Built in 1979, this condo was remodeled a few years ago, and a wall that enclosed the kitchen was removed to open it up to the main living space.”

The complex also offers a pet perk. “Most of the buildings on the island do not allow pets,” Dickenson says. “But Beach Point allows two pets and does not have a weight limit.” So you and your pair of giant Australian labradoodles are welcome!
The listing included a photo of a vintage Mercedes-Benz convertible parked in the condo’s underground parking space, so we couldn’t help but ask Dickenson if that might come with the condo as well.
The agent said this classic car doesn’t come with the condo. However, he did tell us he once included a photo of a classic Mercedes-Benz on a different condo listing, and “wound up selling the car to a guy from Russia who bought it sight unseen. He even arranged shipping.”
He sold the condo to someone else, and his custom for bonus items was born.
This vintage Mercedes-Benz is not included in the condo, but the photo is a nice touch!Realtor.com
