The first half of 2017 was a particularly strong six months for the Memphis housing market. The quantity of homes sold in the Memphis area increased by 8.9 percent during the period, and the average price of those homes increased by 4.4 percent — to about $187,000, according to Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) data.
