News Flash: Actress Danielle Panabaker Upgrades to L.A. Home

Danielle Panabaker

Taylor Hill/FilmMagic

Prolific actress Danielle Panabaker has traded in her two-bedroom apartment in West Hollywood, CA, for a modern, four-bedroom home in the Hollywood Hills.

She currently appears on “The Flash” as Dr. Caitlin Snow, aka Killer Frost. Appropriately, Panabaker scored a stone-cold bargain on her new home.

First, the apartment she sold in August for $796,500: The two-bedroom, two-bath, 1,400-square-foot apartment on North Kings Road is located less than a block off Santa Monica Boulevard, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and nightlife. It’s also around the block from Gelson’s, an upscale grocery chain popular with celebrities.

The corner unit was renovated to open up the floor plan. One kitchen wall was turned into a pass-through/breakfast bar with a smooth electric stovetop and custom hood. The updated galley kitchen features double ovens and a double-doored refrigerator, sleek backsplash, and modern cabinetry. At the end of the kitchen is a dining room with a striking accent wall.

The apartment’s master bedroom has a sliding glass door to the balcony, and a master bathroom with white stone countertops, dual sinks, a glass shower, and a built-in vanity. The apartment also has a walk-in closet and second bedroom that had been converted into an office.

She purchased the unit in 2012 for $448,000 and listed it in July for $750,000. The apartment sold a month later for $46,500 over asking.

After the sale, Panabaker didn’t move far. She paid $1.86 million for a new home just a 10-minute drive from her old apartment. The four-bedroom, five-bath, 3,395-square-foot home was built in 2012 and has the same sleek design aesthetics of her former apartment. Namely, an open floor plan, straight lines, and hardwood floors throughout.

The home’s living room features a minimalist fireplace and a retracting, large-screen TV. There’s also an open dining area, a breakfast bar, and a chef’s kitchen, which is anchored by an island with a white marble countertop that extends to the floor. The kitchen has stainless-steel appliances, modern white cabinetry, a full backsplash, and a funky chandelier.

Wide glass doors in the living room open to a large patio. The master bedroom has accent lighting in the ceiling and opens to a small balcony. The master bath includes a soaking tub under a picture window, a glass shower, and a pair of textured walls designed to look like undulating waves. There’s a walk-in closet.

In the backyard, smooth concrete walls border the patio and lawn. The home was originally listed for $2 million, but sold for $1.86 million.

Panabaker, 29, has been appearing in films and on TV for more than 10 years, starting with a series of Disney films in 2004. More recently, she’s appeared in horror films such as 2009’s “Friday the 13th,” “The Crazies,” and “Piranha 3DD.”
