It’s a small world, especially when you’re talking about exclusive properties in Washington, DC. President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Commerce secretary, Wilbur Ross, has purchased a house across the street from the outgoing Commerce secretary, Penny Pritzker.
The Washington Post says Ross just bought a home located in Massachusetts Heights, a billionaires’ row of high-priced homes and one of the few areas in our nation’s capital that offers a suburblike experience.
Built in 1927, Ross’ new home has seven bedrooms and seven baths spread over 10,000 square feet of living space. The Beaux Arts estate includes a 12-seat media theater and staff quarters. The new-looking kitchen uses gray and white—very now colors—on counters and cabinetry.

On listing agent Chuck Holzwarth‘s site, the home has a list price of $12 million. Now under contract, it last sold in 2010 for $8.2 million. “It’s very private and a great entertaining space,” Holzwarth told us.
Ross, 79, made Forbes’ 2014 list as one of the world’s billionaires with a net worth of almost $3 billion. The former banker is known for restructuring failed companies in the steel, coal, and telecommunications industry. Ross helped Trump avoid personal bankruptcy when his Atlantic City casinos were faltering in the 1990s, according to the Los Angeles Times.
