A former NBA All-Star is looking for a little “magic” in the housing market.
Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway, who rose to national prominence during the 1990s as the point guard for the Orlando Magic, is selling a mansion in Pinecrest, FL, for a smidge under $3.8 million.
The 8,700-square-foot home is located on Florida’s east coast, just 11 miles south of Miami, and boasts six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Built in 2007, the two-story, Mediterranean-style mansion was purchased by Hardaway in 2009 for $3,655,000. The property has since had extensive renovations, according to the listing agent.

On the first floor, you’ll find the master suite, a playroom, and separate children’s and family rooms. There’s also a kitchen, breakfast nook, formal dining room, and snack counter.
Outside, potential buyers will find a pool and spa, patio with built-in grill, and views of the lush garden.

Other amenities include an office, home theater, gym, six-car garage/motor court/parking pavilion, and, of course, basketball court.
Hardaway enjoyed a six-season run of stardom that saw him make four All-Star teams and two All-NBA teams. He helped the Magic reach the NBA Finals in 1994 and 1995 and won a gold medal with the United States Men’s Basketball team in Atlanta in 1996. He was everywhere—the talented baller also had a ubiquitous ad campaign with Nike.
Injuries eventually slowed Penny’s career. He went on to play five seasons with the Phoenix Suns, three with the New York Knicks, and one with the Miami Heat—never averaging more than 16 points per game after leaving Orlando. He has a minority owners stake in the Memphis Grizzlies and is a successful businessman and philanthropist in his hometown of Memphis.
