R&B singer Ne-Yo (real name Shaffer Smith), has bought a brand-new home in Sherman Oaks, CA, for a little under $2 million, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The paint is barely dry on the five-bedroom, six-bath home, which nearly fills its 6,700-square-foot lot. Built-up moldings run throughout the open space, including a living room with a white, coffered ceiling.
Ten-inch-wide oak flooring covers the first floor, which also includes a white kitchen with quartz island that seats four, and temperature-controlled wine storage set behind a couple of glass doors.

The master bedroom comes with a fireplace and French doors leading to a balcony. The master bath boasts a free-standing tub and separate rainshower.
The Cape Cod-style house was built by Maurice Abikzer of Milestone Design and Development in Sherman Oaks. The listing agent was his niece, Sophia Abikzer of Keller Williams Beverly Hills
“You have an iPad, and with it, you can control the lights, the pool, the music, everything,” the agent says of the smart home. Pool controls can switch the lights from blue to pink and turn on the three waterfalls.
The 37-year-old singer is known for hits including “Stay” and “Money Can’t Buy.” He won a Grammy in 2008 for his album “Because of You.”
