It’s quite a dramatic move to put a living room in your front yard and make it work. So it should come as no surprise that director and screenwriter Joe Carnahan was able to pull it off with characteristic style.

Now you can get your own slice of the action, because he’s recently put his El Medio Bluffs home in Pacific Palisades, CA, on the market for $3.9 million.

Of course, the writer/director of films such as “Narc,” “Smokin’ Aces,” and “The A-Team” isn’t revealing everything. The outdoor living room, hidden behind tall gates and lush foliage, features carpet, sofas, chairs, and a stone fireplace. It’s an ideal spot for scheming up a new action movie.

Carnahan and his family have lived in the five-bedroom, 3.5-bath house since 2015, when they bought it for $3.1 million. They listed it in August for $4 million, then relisted it this week for $100,000 less.

The 3,654 square-foot, traditional-style home was recently remodeled, with the kitchen and living room now boasting 14-foot ceilings. Glass doors lead to a grassy backyard.

Upstairs there are two bedrooms, including a nursery, an office suite, and a master bedroom with a walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom with mountain views.

The home, located on a large lot, is just a short stroll to the famous Pacific Palisades bluffs.

It isn’t clear yet where Carnahan will be living next, but it is clear what he won’t be doing next—directing Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in “Bad Boys 3.” After rewriting the most recent version of the script, Carnahan left the project over “scheduling conflicts.”

The Hollywood player does have a lot on his plate. He’s reportedly writing scripts for five movies right now, including “Death Wish” and a U.S. version of “The Raid.” The former, starring Bruce Willis, is scheduled for release later this year.
