A batter gets three swings in baseball before striking out. Now, a former big-league slugger is ready to take a second swing in real estate with hopes of never having to take strike three.
Fred McGriff, who rose to fame as the “Crime Dog” for the dominant Atlanta Braves team of the 1990s, has relisted his mansion in Tampa, FL. After swinging for the fences and putting his home on the market in October 2014 for $6.9 million, McGriff is now choking up on the bat. He’s drastically reduced the price to a more conservative $3.9 million.
That said, there’s little that’s conservative about the 11,700-square-foot property.
The mansion sits on almost 2 acres of beautiful land and has five bedrooms and seven baths. It is located near one of Tampa Bay’s premier golf courses, so it’s no surprise the property comes with a four-cart garage. Other luxe features include a study, playroom, game room, and gym.

McGriff, whose Major League Baseball career spanned 19 seasons with a variety of teams, was a five-time All-Star, three-time Silver Slugger, and a World Series champion in 1995 with the Atlanta Braves. The slugger retired just seven home runs short of the 500 Home Run Club and currently hosts a radio show in Tampa.
