Home sales end slight decline, tick up in September

Local home sales ticked up slightly in September compared to a year ago, following two months in which sales were down year-over-year. According to the Greater Nashville Association of Realtors, there were 3,474 home closings reported last month, which is up 0.8 percent from September 2015. Home sales in August were down by 0.8 percent, and July sales were down by 3.3 percent. The median sales price for a single-family home sold in September was $256,900, up from $236,866 a year ago.
