‘The Shield’ Is Leaving Sherman Oaks: Michael Chiklis Selling $5.2M Home

To some, actor Michael Chiklis will always be known for his Emmy-winning role as LAPD Detective Vic Mackey on the FX police drama “The Shield.” To others, he’ll forever be remembered as Commissioner Tony Scali on the ABC police drama “The Commish.”

However, one thing he won’t be known for much longer is being a resident of Sherman Oaks, CA. He’s putting his Hamptons-style home “South of the Boulevard” in the San Fernando Valley on the market for $5.2 million.

No modest policeman’s bungalow this, it measures 5,773 square feet and has five bedrooms, four baths, and two half-baths. The house was originally built in 1946, and Chiklis has been there for more than 20 years. He bought the place in 1996 for $1.1 million from the one and only David Hasselhoff.

Needless to say, there’s been a whole lot of remodeling going on, some of it by designer Windsor Smith. There are wide-plank Vermont pine floors, vaulted and beamed ceilings, and french doors throughout.

Chiklis, 54, has been busy on the small screen. He’s starred in the science-fiction comedy-drama “No Ordinary Family” and the crime drama “Vegas.” He appeared on one season of “American Horror Story” (Freak Show). Lately, he’s been starring as Nathaniel Barnes on Fox’s DC Comics crime series “Gotham.”
