See the Before and After of This Multimillion-Dollar Makeover in Bel Air

The logistics behind a multimillion-dollar makeover boggle the mind, but for the Los Angeles–based developers of ANR Signature Collection, it’s no big whoop.

As a prime example, see the before and after photos of their latest success in Bel Air. You might say it’s all in a day’s work—or, in this case, three years’ work.

The developers purchased the mansion from actress Della Reese for $7.5 million in 2014. (Reese died on Sunday. She was 86.) They remodeled the home into a contemporary megamansion and sold it earlier this month for a record-setting $19.25 million.

Originally built in 1951, the home measured 5,844 square feet and had a 2,600-square-foot indoor pool pavilion. Now the main residence measures 11,805 square feet, and the indoor pool area has been converted into a grand-scale chef’s kitchen, dining room, and lounge.

The finished product originally went on the market for $23.5 million in April. Though reduced, the final price still set a record for the upper Bel Air neighborhood. The home was represented by Ernie Carswell & Partners.

Agustin Rodriguez, president of ANR, noted the home’s location had a lot do with the record sale price.

The mansion overlooks the Stone Canyon Reservoir and has a view of the Pacific Ocean as well.

“Located in one of the country’s most exclusive neighborhoods, the home was transformed to reflect its impressive setting,” says Rodriguez. “The two most expensive homes listed in the country, $250 million and $350 million respectively, are both in Bel Air.”

The multimillion-dollar makeover and expansion also included the addition of a second-floor, six-room master suite. The main residence now has six bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a guesthouse, theater, gym/yoga studio, and ocean view lounge.

There’s still a pool, but now it sits outside and has an infinity edge. The revamped grounds include a dining pavilion, courtyard for grilling, motor court, and dual double garages.

Where the finishes were once bright-colored and basic, with lots of carpeting, glass-brick walls and windows, and wood paneling, there are now motorized sliding walls, wire-brushed oak flooring, and rough-hewn stone walls. Rees Studio was the architect and Masa Studio handled the home’s interior design.

In the words of Future and Drake, ANR Signature Collection is used to this.
