In May ex-NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III found a tenant for his home in Leesburg, VA. And though he has a steady monthly rental income, he’s looking for a buyer for the suburban home.
The caveat: The buyer is not snapping up this slice of RGIII memorabilia to actually live there—the current tenant has a lease until 2022.
“It’s perfect for an investor,” says listing agent Bill Davis with Century 21 New Millennium. “Whoever buys it will have a tenant for five years.”
RGIII is asking nearly $2.7 million for the 8,561-square-foot home, which he bought in 2013 for $2.5 million, when he was quarterbacking for the Washington Redskins. He had initially listed the home for sale in April 2016 for $2.75 million, but found no takers.

After sustaining knee injuries and a sad ending to his Redskins tenure, as well as a short injury-plagued stint with the Cleveland Browns, the former Heisman Trophy winner is in a state of limbo when it comes to his quarterbacking career. Only 27 years old, he might be done with the NFL.
His Leesburg home has four bedrooms, five baths, hardwood flooring, and a kitchen with cream-and-mahogany cabinets and breakfast island.
The large master suite features a bath with his-and-her vanities, and a shoe closet with a chandelier and mounted TV. Downstairs there’s a theater, wet bar, wine cellar, and fireplace.
The backyard features a swimming pool and spa, pool house, perennial garden, and sprawling lawn. Investors might want to scramble to find out how much money they could pull down from this luxury Virginia rental property with a pro pedigree.
