Tennis great Gigi Fernandez is trying to ace a sale of her home in New Canaan, CT, which came on the market earlier this week for $1.7 million.
The 5,000-square-foot Dutch Colonial is on a quiet cul-de-sac in the quaint town, a bedroom community north of New York City. The five-bedroom, four-bath home includes hardwood floors throughout, a new kitchen with center island, and a huge master suite with fireplace, spa, and walk-in closets.
The family room boasts a fireplace, built-ins, and french doors leading to a covered porch. There’s another fireplace on a stone terrace overlooking the wooded and landscaped backyard.

Fernandez and her partner, former LPGA golfer Jane Geddes, bought the Connecticut home in 2014 for $1.6 million. Fernandez and Geddes have 7-year-old twins, Karson Xavier and Madison Jane.
“They’ve done a beautiful job updating the home,” says listing agent Jaime Sneddon with Halstead Properties. “I have a feeling we’re going to sell it very quickly.”
Fernandez, 53, was the first Puerto Rico–born female athlete to win an Olympic gold medal. While she peaked in singles tennis in 1991, she made her name and found her true calling in doubles. She won 17 Grand Slam doubles titles and snagged two Olympic gold medals representing the U.S. playing doubles.
