David Plouffe, political insider and former key adviser to President Barack Obama, has paid $7,625,000 for a 6,000-square-foot house in San Francisco, where he now works as Uber’s strategic adviser.
Constructed in 1903, the recently renovated home has seven bedrooms and 5.5 baths on four levels. It’s nestled right between two of the most expensive neighborhoods in the city: Pacific Heights and the Presidio.
Despite its multimillion-dollar price tag, Plouffe’s home doesn’t rank as one of the most expensive sales in the city over the past six months. We’ve seen eight sales of homes topping $10 million over that time frame, topped by the October sale of a Pacific Heights home for $21.8 million.

His home boasts high ceilings, built-up moldings, hardwood floors, and oversize windows. A grand staircase is flanked by a living room and a dining room, which has direct access to a deck.
The white kitchen features Calacatta marble counters, subway tile backsplashes, and a butler’s pantry. The master suite includes a fireplace, dressing room, and bath with soaking rub and frameless shower.

Plouffe, 49, was the savvy campaign manager behind Obama’s 2008 presidential win. He was appointed senior adviser to the president in 2011. He took a policy and strategy job with Uber in August 2014, but later moved into an advisory position with the ride-sharing company in May 2015.
He is married to Olivia Morgan, a senior adviser to Maria Shriver’s A Woman’s Nation. The couple have a daughter and son.
