Guess Who Bought the ‘Full House’ Home? 6 Shockers Fans Should Know

Everything has come full circle for “Full House” fans! Remember how the Tanner house—featured in the opening credits of this hit 1990s show—went on sale earlier this year, and was soon snapped up by a mystery buyer? Well, you can stop pondering who that may be, because news has surfaced that this iconic house at 1709 Broderick St. in San Francisco, CA, was purchased by none other than the sitcom’s creator, Jeff Franklin.

“The house came on the market and really, I just thought, I have to buy this house,” Franklin told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m so sentimental about the house. It’s great to have the house in our Full House family and be able to preserve it for the fans. … Seriously, I love owning this house.”

Could there have been a more perfect ending to this story?

Only it’s not so much an ending as a new chapter for this stately Victorian home. Here are some must-known facts about its future.

1. It will be renovated to match what you see on TV

Right now, the interior of the “Full House” home looks nothing like what you saw on the original sitcom or the Netflix spinoff “Fuller House,” because those shows were filmed on a Los Angeles set. But get this: Franklin plans to renovate the house so it matches the set. Talk about life imitating art!

2. The house isn’t up to code

Another reason for this major six-month renovation? The building isn’t built to code. So Franklin plans to bring it up to snuff.

3. The door will be repainted red

The former owners didn’t only flout building codes, they also saddened fans by painting the iconic red front door a sea-foam blue. Well, Franklin’s first order of business is to repaint it red, thank you very much.

“There are probably 250 fans per day that show up and take a picture in front of it,” Franklin noted. “It will be a lot more fun for the fans because now the house will look like the Tanners really live there.”

4. ‘Fuller House’ may be filmed there

And as long as the home’s interior is going to look like the set, why not film “Fuller House” there? That’s exactly what Franklin hopes to do.

“We would take advantage of the fact that I now own the house, and we could go up there and shoot some new footage and maybe bring the cast up and shoot with them up there,” said Franklin.

5. The house will host a sleepover for the cast

And as long as you’re filming there, why not host a cast sleepover afterward? Yet again, Franklin is on the case, planning to do so on Sept. 22, 2017—the show’s 30th anniversary.

“I hope to bring the cast up to the house and have a big slumber party here so people can drive by and actually see the Tanner family living there for one whole day,” Franklin said.

6. You might be able to rent the house!

Franklin would like to give fans a chance to stay in the Tanner house, although there’s no word on whether that means renting it for a couple of days or months at a time.

“I will be renting it out, but I’m not sure yet what, where, when, or how,” he said. “At some point soon I will figure that out.”

Please do, Jeff! As a child of the ’90s who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I couldn’t think of a better place to rent for my high school reunion next year.
