$200M Mansion Tops This Week’s Most Popular Homes

Luxury sparks curiosity! Seven of the 10 most-clicked homes on realtor.com® this week carry million-dollar price tags. However, no price tag is quite as heavy a lift as the $200 million mansion topping our list.

Currently the most expensive listing in the country, L.A.’s Spelling Manor earned its prodigious price through sheer size. At over 56,000 square feet, it’s one of the largest private homes in the country and has been thoroughly renovated by its current owner, heiress Petra Stunt.

The gift-wrapping room may be gone, but the home’s gawk-worthiness hasn’t wavered. Now entering its third official week on the market, the massive manse crushed the competition for clicks.

The competition includes a $65 million mansion on Star Island in Florida, a $60 million Malibu mansion belonging to Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, and Seattle’s most expensive home (which is listed for a paltry-seeming $15 million).

Beyond the extreme interest in luxury, you also clicked furiously on a Mid-Century Modern in Memphis (!), a lakeside hotel in upstate New York, and a couple of shotgun houses in New Orleans.

Scope out the entire list of most popular homes below.

10. 46 Star Island Dr, Miami Beach, FL

Price: $65,000,000
Why it’s here: This mansion on exclusive Star Island was the most expensive new listing to hit the market three weeks ago. Built in the 1920s, it was completely renovated this year and shines as one of the brightest homes on the celestially named island.

9. 998 Fair Meadow Rd, Memphis, TN

Price: $350,000
Why it’s here: It’s another far-flung entrant for fans of Mid-Century Modern style. Granted, Memphis is better known as the home of Elvis Presley and its unique style of barbecue than for classic ’60s-era design. However, this cool home has been well-preserved and is quite a catch for an MCM fan in search of a bargain.

8. 12518 W 6th Pl, Lakewood, CO

Price: $365,000
Why it’s here: We’re not quite sure why this five-bedroom home in the Denver suburbs was so doggone popular. It’s probably the price—the median list price in Lakewood is $500,000.

7. 814 E Highland Dr, Seattle, WA

Price: $15,000,000
Why it’s here: Seattle’s most expensive listing has been on the market since July, but it popped in popularity this week. On the National Register of Historic Places and known as the Sam Hill Mansion, the enormous five-bedroom estate has had an array of renovations over the past decade.

6. 690 E Lake Rd, Barrington, NY

Price: $3,300,000
Why it’s here: It’s not a house—it’s a hotel. If you ever want to scratch an itch to become an innkeeper, the Viking Hotel in upstate New York might be the answer. Situated on over 5 acres and nestled against Canandaigua Lake, it could also be converted into a family compound.

5. 824 Henry Clay Ave, New Orleans, LA

Price: $1,200,000
Why it’s here: We saw a similar home rise to the top in August. It’s another double shotgun home in the Audubon neighborhood. A buyer can rent out one unit for around $3,000 a month while living on the other side of the wall. If you don’t want to be that close to your tenant, you could buy it and rent out both sides of the shotgun.

2. 1019 Arabella St, New Orleans, LA

Price: $635,000
Why it’s here: Yet another shotgun! However, this one is only a single. Also located in the Audubon area, the skinny three-bedroom structure was built in 1906.

1. 594 S Mapleton Dr, Los Angeles, CA

Price: $200,000,000
Why it’s here: The most expensive home in the country is crushing the competition in price and number of clicks. Known as Spelling Manor, the home was built by the late TV producer Aaron Spelling. Now belonging to Formula 1 heiress Petra Stunt, the 56,500-square-foot megamansion reportedly boasts a double staircase and entryway with 30-foot-tall ceilings, a gym, a wine cellar and tasting room, an industrial-sized kitchen, an exotic fish tank in the study, a night club, and a beauty salon with three stations and massage and tanning rooms. Plus, there’s room to park 100 cars!
