L.A. and Nashville aren’t the only places you can find homes outfitted with recording studios.

Grammy-nominated composer, guitarist, and producer Ottmar Liebert is selling his home in Santa Fe, NM, for $1.4 million. It has dedicated recording facilities on the premises for when inspiration strikes in the Southwest.

The acclaimed musician, originally from Germany, has been living in this three-bedroom, 2.5-bath, Southwestern-style home for 20 years. He’s spent those two decades perfecting the house, extensively remodeling it to maximize space and light.

There are now soaring ceilings, tall windows, and open spaces. White plaster walls, slate tile floors, and honeyed wood floors and cabinetry are prevalent throughout.

Liebert, 59, also added a separate, state-of-the-art heated and cooled recording studio, custom-wired for both analog and digital recording.

It’s the space where he created much of the “Nouveau Flamenco” music he’s famous for. Made of adobe, the studio could easily be converted into an art studio or guesthouse by a new owner.

Gates and foliage discreetly hide the 1.2 acre property, so an artist can create here in peace and tranquility, and guests can relax undisturbed.

The 5,183-square-foot home’s other distinctive features include a solarium-style dining area, and a modern kitchen with high-end appliances, an island, and a wine refrigerator.

There’s also a media room, a three-car attached garage, and a hot tub overlooking western views of sunsets on Santa Fe and the Jemez Mountains. The house was designed to take full advantage of desert and sunset views.

Originally priced at $1.55 million almost a year ago, the property was reduced to its current asking price earlier this month. That’s about $269 per square foot, which is actually lower than the median price of $302 per square foot in the Canyon neighborhood of Santa Fe.

Leibert has won 38 Gold and Platinum records in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, and he has five Grammy nominations to his credit. His most recent album is “The Complete Santa Fe Sessions,” released earlier this year. He will be touring the Southwest throughout the summer.
