Professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy is waltzing away from his Fort Lee, NJ, home. The 37-year-old, a fan favorite on “Dancing With the Stars,” is listing the Colonial for $2.2 million.
The Ukranian-born competitive dancer and choreographer also owns a dance studio in Fort Lee with his brother, fellow dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
Maksim bought his Jersey home in 2013 for $1.8 million, according to property records. In 2014, he listed it for rent for $18,000 a month.
Maksim has since flirted with leaving “DWTS,” and is now committed to selling his home.

Built in 2000, the 5,200-square-foot residence has five bedrooms and 5.5 baths. It also offers partial views of the Hudson River and Manhattan.
Although few pictures of the home are available, the stone facade is elegant and inviting. High-end details include wood floors, and the chef’s kitchen comes with marble counters, a large island, and commercial gas range. The finished basement would be ideal for hosting an impromptu dance competition. (Or for just watching one on TV.)
With radiant heating in the foyer, kitchen, and baths and cathedral ceilings throughout, this home has all the right moves.
After making it to the final round of “DWTS” five times, with two runner-up and two third-place finishes, Maksim finally won the title with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis in 2014. He’s also starred in the dance shows “Burn the Floor” and “Forever Tango.” He and his wife, professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd, a two-time winner of “DWTS,” recently celebrated the first birthday of their son.
