Joe Mauer, the Minnesota Twins first baseman and three-time American League batting champion, has bought a Woodland, MN, getaway on Lake Minnetonka for a mere $6.2 million—in cash!—according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.

Built in 2009, the 6,700-square-foot lakehouse has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and a four-car garage. A white kitchen opens to a family room, and a butler’s pantry features a full-size wine fridge and slate floors. Covered and screened patios overlook lush lawns and the crystal-blue lake. The home is situated on just over 3 acres, and there’s an additional 1,700-square-foot, three-bedroom guesthouse out back.

The six-time All-Star purchased the property in mid-June through MABM, a Florida-based limited liability corporation that lists him as president.

The former catcher, who grew up in St. Paul, is the only catcher in baseball history to win three batting titles. He was named the American League’s Most Valuable Player in 2009 and has won five Silver Slugger awards along with three Golden Gloves.

Mauer, 33, and his wife, Maddie Bisanz, a nurse, have 3-year-old twin daughters, Emily and Maren. They spend most of their time in Sunfish Lake in Dakota County, MN, in a home they reportedly bought in 2012 for $1.75 million.
