Zayn Malik Heading in One Direction From Bel Air: Far, Far Away

A Bel Air mansion appeared to be a perfect bachelor pad for former One Direction star Zayn Malik.

It’s hidden on a private flag lot up a long, gated drive; it’s sleek and minimalist; it has a recording studio; and it’s located close to where Malik’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Gigi Hadid has family ties.

But it seems that Malik is heading in a different direction. His investment company, Drop Zed Properties, has just listed his 1-acre property with a three-bedroom, 1.75-bath house for $3.5 million.

Malik paid $3.1 million for the home in September 2015, so he’s had a little over three years to enjoy the 2,332-square-foot house, which was built in 1962.

It’s unclear which (if any) renovations happened under Malik’s watch, but the floors have been updated with polished concrete, two of the three bedrooms have been combined to make one spacious master, and the garage appears to have been converted into a recording studio.

The listing suggests the home is move-in ready, but a new buyer could expand the current home or build anew. Large lots in L.A.’s Bel Air neighborhood are hot commodities among luxury developers such as Gigi’s father, Mohamed Hadid.

Malik is also selling his $4.5 million home in North London, according to the Daily Mail. He’s planning to spend more time in New York in the Soho penthouse he bought for $10.7 million in March.

Malik, 25, rose to international stardom with One Direction, then left the group in 2015. He eventually embarked on a solo career. His debut studio album, “Mind of Mine,” and its first single, “Pillowtalk,” made him the first British male artist to debut at No. 1 in both the United Kingdom and U.S. with a debut single and debut album.
