DJ Khaled Produces a Delicious Deal on a Magnificent Miami Mansion

DJ Khaled was able to spin a stellar deal on a glittering Miami mansion. The home was listed for $25.9 million, but the prolific hit-maker picked it up for $21.8 million. The contemporary mansion comes with 105 feet of waterfront and a private dock on Indian Creek.

Khaled bought the property from Michael Lerner, the man behind the ubiquitous “Baby on Board” signs. Lerner told the Wall Street Journal that he put the property on the market because he’s moving to Palm Beach, FL.

Lerner had bought the estate in 2013 for $4.95 million and commenced on an extreme renovation, hiring designer Cesar Molina to oversee the interior. Molina curated exquisite wall treatments, millwork, and textiles by Holly Hunt, and furnishings from French interior designer Christian Liaigre.

Designer finishes highlight every square inch of the five-bedroom main house as well as the four-bedroom, two-story guesthouse. There’s a total of 12,750 square feet of interior living space and 10.5 bathrooms. The 1-acre lot features grassy lawns, modern fountains and ponds, and an 80-foot-long pool and spa.

There’s also a two-level gazebo with a full kitchen, bathroom, shower, and fireplace.

Khaled, 42, broke out as a radio host for the Miami-based urban-formatted station 99 JAMZ. He went on to produce and record with popular musicians, including Drake, Ludacris, and Nicki Minaj. He’s also released albums of his own featuring A-list vocalists and rappers.

Seller’s agents Eloy Carmente and Mick Duchon of Douglas Elliman and buyer’s agent Orli Rudolph of NextHome Realty Professionals declined to comment on the sale.
