$45M Newport Beach Mansion Featured in Music Video Is Most Expensive New Listing

realtor.com

This week’s most expensive new new listing on realtor.com® is located in Newport Beach, CA, which isn’t a shock. The coastal town in the O.C. is noted for its pricey homes overlooking the ocean.

However, this newly built mansion comes with some 90 feet of dock frontage, a $45 million price tag, and one music video.

The promotional video already caught our eye, and now the mansion has earned some attention of its own thanks to its price tag.

In the video, a Duffy (a small electric boat) docks at the multimillion-dollar estate, which, as the song points out, has room to park “eight Duffys.”

“If you’ve got some spare mills, take a tour, look around,” the song continues.

So grab your boombox, and let’s follow the advice of the lyrics. Checkbook not required.

This Newport Beach, CA, home is the week’s most expensive new listing.

Real estate developer Craig Atkins purchased the property in 2014, then proceeded to tear down the old home and built anew, according to the Orange County Register

Nestled between the beach and bay, the new home was designed by architect Robert Sinclair and built by Patterson Custom Homes. Blackband Design did the interiors. The finished product is “the envy of every passerby,” the listing notes.

“It sits on three lots and checks every box,” says listing agent Tim Smith. “The style was perfectly executed, and it’s just a legacy property.”

The 13,000-square-foot layout took almost three years to plan, design, and build, according to the listing video.

There are five beds, six bathrooms, and two half-baths. High-end details include a 1,100-square-foot aquarium in the great room, a fireplace with a 16-foot stone hearth and mantel, and a kitchen with two islands.

A million dollars was spent on Riviera Bronze windows and doors, which open up an entire side of the home to the backyard, blending indoor and outdoor living spaces. The outdoor entertainment space includes a cooking area, fire pit, pool with underwater speakers, and a new dock with room for at least four vessels. (And sure, one of them will probably be a Duffy boat.)

The master suite includes two built-in daybeds, a bath with a sauna and soaking tub, and water views. Elsewhere there are two game rooms, two bars, two chef’s kitchens, an executive office, crafts room, home theater, and gym. The upper level is accessed by a floating staircase and illuminated by a custom skylight.

The building also boasts whole-home automation and includes a glass elevator, five-car garage with electric vehicle chargers, and solar panels.
