Former All-Star pitcher Jake Peavy hasn’t pitched since 2016, and has been comfortably ensconced in his home state of Alabama, so keeping a luxurious spread in San Diego isn’t a priority. He’s recently listed his 6,953-square-foot hacienda-style home for $2.9 million.

Peavy won’t be clearing a profit on the place, which he bought for $3.5 million. The right-hander made his MLB debut with the San Diego Padres in 2002, and rented out the house to tenants after he was traded to the Chicago White Sox in 2009.

It’s easy to see why the Cy Young Award-winning pitcher would have an affinity for the home. The spacious five-bedroom, seven-bath residence was brand-new when he bought it, and the 1.75-acre property has luxury features including a sport court, a putting green, and a pool and spa with a poolhouse.
