Monta Ellis, the gifted NBA guard with the smooth scoring touch, has listed his Flora, MS, home. One of the National Basketball Association’s most-liked players is hoping someone out there loves the wide-open spaces of the Mississippi wilderness just as much as he does.

The spread is located less than 20 miles from where Ellis grew up playing basketball as a McDonald’s All-American for Lanier High School in Jackson, before he was drafted straight into the professional ranks by the Golden State Warriors in 2005.

Records show the 6-acre property was last listed in 2009 for $890,000. It’s currently on the market for $850,000. And with all the amenities, it could be a steal for a potential buyer.

The attraction of the 6,300-square-foot, six-bed, 4.5-bath space begins with views of the gated Highlands community from the mansion’s upstairs balcony, according to Brian Ramsey of Crye-Leike Realtors. The accompanying lakes are sure to be a lure for an avid fisherman like Ellis.

Once inside, the next owner will enjoy a spacious downstairs master suite, which comes with built-in cabinets, a jetted tub, double vanities, separate shower, and walk-in closet.

Additionally, the home’s lower level features a guest suite with walk-in closet.

Rounding out the home’s features are a large entertainment space in the den plus a game room, screened porch, exercise room, office, and upstairs media room and playroom.

Outside, the buyer can enjoy the views from the pool or hot tub. There’s also a deck just off the lake, perfect for casting a line.

And lastly, the large laundry room is just off of the third garage space and pool area. It comes equipped with a shower that can double as a mudroom.

Ellis is teamless with a month left until the start of the 2017-18 NBA season. In 12 years, the guard has played for four different teams. He’s probably best known for being a part of a major trade that sent him to the Milwaukee Bucks after seven seasons in Oakland as one of the Warriors’ most popular players. Since Milwaukee, Ellis has played for the Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers.
