Dayton sees home prices soar in August, while sales dip

The Dayton region continues to witness a healthy housing market. In August, 1,600 homes and condos changed hands, marking a 1 percent decline from the same period last year, according to the Dayton Area Board of Realtors. However, as home sales have increased through much of 2017, fewer homes are available on the market. August’s average sales price totaled $162,000, leaping past last year’s figure by 11 percent.
