He never donned a uniform for the Rangers or Astros, but former big-leaguer Vernon Wells knows how things are done in Texas.

In a word, big. Not only are all 16,238 square feet of his Westlake, TX, mansion up for sale, but the price tag is equally humongous, at $9.9 million.

Records show the property was originally purchased in 2006 with a complete rebuild finished in 2010.

One of the main lures is the property’s private lake and proximity to nearby Grapevine Lake. The 2-acre property includes a sport court, covered and open patios, a kitchen, a stone fireplace, and an infinity pool with slide, in-pool bar stools, and spa.

The indoor features aren’t too shabby, either.

There are five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and two half-baths. The master suite comes with a sitting area, fireplace, outdoor terrace, and closet that extends into a laundry and utility room.

Other amenities include a health center with an exercise studio and, of course, a batting cage. There’s also a spa with sauna, jetted tub, massage room, and salon. And if you’re into entertaining, the game room and the media room each come equipped with a bar.

The place is a true home run built by a man who hit them. In 15 seasons in the MLB, Wells played for three different clubs, most notably the Toronto Blue Jays. Wells, who grew up about 30 miles south of the mansion, made three All-Star teams and earned three Gold Gloves for his defensive work. He retired after the 2013 season with 270 home runs to his name, but never appeared in the postseason.
