Eminem’s Michigan Mansion Is Chart-Topper of This Week’s Most Popular Homes

Eminem is accustomed to topping charts. So Slim Shady must be flattered that his Michigan mansion ranked as the most-clicked home on realtor.com® this week.

It’s at least a drop of comfort, as the platinum-selling rapper is prepared to take a haircut on his home in Oakland Township, MI. His price slash fueled a wild wave of interest in the “lavish” spread, which garnered five times as many views as this week’s runner-up.

Eminem’s 17,500-square-foot mansion recently re-entered the market for $2 million, which is less than half the $4.75 million he paid for it in 2003.

At the current price, the enormous spread might actually be a deal. It includes five beds, 10 baths, and almost 6 acres with tennis courts, waterfall pool with spa, entertainment cabana, guesthouse with “wild game room,” and private pond.

The runner-up this week is an Iowa building that’s too cool for school. Built in 1900, this former brick schoolhouse has four classrooms, a concrete staircase, 19-foot-high ceilings, and maybe a wall clock or two. The 6,700-square-foot building can be converted into commercial, nonprofit, or even individual use.

We also fell for a log cabin deep in a Kansas forest.

“You don’t expect to see one in Eastern Kansas like this,” says listing agent Shad Sheldon. The eco-friendly materials used on this rustic retreat include hand-hewn logs from Utah. According to the agent, potential buyers are considering the spacious cabin for an Airbnb-style rental.

Whether or not you’re a fan of Eminem, we think you can easily lose yourself in the full list of this week’s most popular properties.

1. 5760 Winkler Mill Rd., Oakland Township, MI

Price: $1,999,000
Why it’s here: It’s Eminem’s place! Looking a bit forlorn, the Michigan mansion is being sold as is. And though the rap star is selling this palatial place, he reportedly didn’t use it. Whether or not he lived there, he has it priced to move at less than half of what he paid for it in 2003.
