Milwaukee-area home sales up 7.1% in 2016, but shy of 2005 record

Milwaukee-area home sales were down a slight 1 percent, or 14 houses, in December, but 2016 closed out 7.1 percent ahead of the previous year, according to the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors. The four-county area tallied 21,007 sales in 2016, compared with 19,611 in the prior year.
