Pittsburgh Steelers legend Hines Ward now hopes to score a renter for his trophy home in Atlanta.

The retired wide receiver first put his custom-built manse on the market in 2012 for $7.5 million. The home popped up again in 2017 for $6 million, and this week, we spotted the glorious residence now being offered as a rental for a hefty $50,000 a month.

“The market here in Atlanta, because of entertainment industry, the luxury high-end rental market has taken off,” says listing agent Glennda Baker-LeBlanc of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. She notes the home is still available to purchase for $5 million.

What a buyer (or tenant!) will acquire is a home designed by Ward himself.

“I wanted my house to be like a W Hotel,” the MVP told Atlanta Magazine. The contemporary design, oversized rooms, and high-end finishes, along with a gym, bar, media room, and outdoor pool and spa do make the mansion seem like a resort.

Ward’s sports memorabilia are showcased in a trophy room as well as in the gym. Baker-LeBlanc says the receiver’s collection doesn’t come with the house, although the first floor, master suite, and mezzanine all come furnished.

If a buyer does step forward, she says, Ward will provide a signed piece of memorabilia.

Athletic types will appreciate the University of Georgia replica basketball court. “It really is such a reflection of the owner. It’s so personal, but very appealing,” she adds. Ward has called the place his “dream home” among his collection of houses.

The 16,000-square-foot home has eight bedrooms (including two master suites), seven bathrooms, and five half-baths.

The open layout includes a kitchen with breakfast bar, formal living room, family room, game room, dining room, theater room, and elevator. Outside, the grounds include a pool, hot tub, kitchen, bar, candle-lit grotto, and cabana.

The 42-year-old played his entire 14-season NFL career with the Steelers, helping them win two Super Bowl championships. The Georgia native retired after the 2011 season, and is now an analyst with CNN and HLN.
