How’s this for a major Hollywood deal: Tech billionaire Larry Ellison picked up movie producer Joel Silver’s Malibu, CA, beach house for $38 million, TMZ reports.
The gorgeous home with 130 feet of exclusive access to Carbon Beach is the only waterfront property with a tennis court, according to the listing.
The 5,859-square-foot home on almost three-quarters of an acre features an open plan. It includes a loft office above the living room, chef’s kitchen, dining room with fireplace, five bedrooms, and six bathrooms. The master suite features glass doors, which open to a private balcony.

The property was initially listed by the producer of the “Matrix” trilogy for $57.5 million in 2016. Silver relisted the home in October 2017 for $52 million, making it the most expensive listing on realtor.com® that week.
The property is currently listed off-market, with its latest price still frozen at $52 million. If the reports are true and the purchase price was $38 million, Ellison received a substantial price cut to continue expanding his sandy empire.
Ellison has become a “Malibu real estate mogul,” according to TMZ, buying his first Carbon Beach property back in 2002. He has reportedly amassed 11 other properties in the coastal city. He also reportedly paid $20 million for the Casa Malibu Inn in 2007.
The abode has a Hollywood history. Silver bought the place from the late Robert Chartoff, who produced “Rocky,” in 2003 for $14.4 million, according to Variety.
