Colorado Rockies star outfielder Carlos González, aka “CarGo,” is expanding his real estate empire. He recently purchased a megamansion in Orlando, FL, for $4.65 million.

Built in 2016, the 12,500-square-foot, five-bedroom, 10-bath home is located on the edge of Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. From his backyard, the three-time All-Star can watch golfers attempt to navigate the club’s 16th hole—it’s a punishing par-4 with twin sand traps near the green.

The house itself is open and modern, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in most of the rooms. When open, they create the ultimate indoor-outdoor party space.

It’s designed around a central courtyard, which has four palm trees and a well-groomed putting green. Surrounding the courtyard are a large sitting area, two bedrooms, a gallery hallway, and the entertainment area.

The entertainment area has a skinny, glass-enclosed fireplace (with a distinctive honeycomb tile design), bartender’s station, and dramatic wine bar. In listing photos of the room, there’s also a dining table, sitting area, and baby grand piano.

The sleek, European-style kitchen features high-gloss cabinetry, wine fridge, Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, Caesarstone quartz countertops, and center island. To break up the kitchen’s glossy perfection, there’s a rough-cut, waterfall-edge wooden breakfast bar attached to the island.

The master bedroom has its own Wolf coffee system, safe room, walk-in closet, and laundry station. The master bath has a soaking tub and waterfall shower.

Just beyond the entertainment area are the infinity pool, sun shelf, and floating spa. There are two outdoor grills—one by the pool, and the other on the 1,775-square-foot rooftop terrace. The terrace’s kitchen is particularly cool, with a long wet bar and multiple TVs mounted above the grilling station.

The house is certified LEED Gold, with solar panels that power Tesla batteries. In case of a major storm, there’s a whole-house generator to keep the lights on. Elsewhere, there’s a guesthouse with its own lanai, an elevator, and twin two-car garages.

González appears to be just as savvy in real estate as he is on the diamond—snapping up this house for $345,000 less than the listing price.

The 32-year-old right fielder is a fixture in the Colorado outfield, now in his 10th season manning Coors Field. He’s won three Gold Glove awards and, with 218 career home runs, remains a force in the Rockies’ lineup.
