Poor Eminem (aka Marshall Mathers). Although Rolling Stone magazine declared him one of the top 100 artists of all time, he hasn’t been as fortunate when it comes to investing in real estate. He’s just listed his 17,500-square-foot Michigan mansion for $2 million, less than half of the $4.75 million he paid for the place in 2003.
Sitting on 6 lushly wooded acres near Rochester Hills, the mansion has five bedrooms, each with its own private bath. It also comes with a guardhouse, five-car garage, outdoor sport court, pool, and entertainment cabana.
In addition, there’s a large private pond and a guesthouse with a “wild game room,” according to the listing.

Although the home placed 10th on the list of “Top 10 Rapper’s Mansions of 2016,” there are ominous words in the listing: “House is sold as-is” might mean some improvements will be necessary. Listing photos show no signs of current or recent habitation, and we failed to spot any sort of stylish Slim Shady mark on the home.

Property tax records indicate the home was assessed at $1,763,160 in 2016. That’s some depreciation. But there is some good news: It has climbed up from its $1,517,410 assessment in 2014.
The 44-year-old rapper has enjoyed a storied and controversial career that has garnered him 15 Grammies and an Oscar for the best original song “Lose Yourself,” from the semibiographical film “8 Mile.” He last performed live in 2014’s Monster Tour with Rihanna, and since 2016 he’s been musically outspoken about politics, releasing the songs “Campaign Speech” and “I Decided” with Big Sean.
