It’s not breaking news when we tell you Beverly Hills, CA, is a pricey place to live. And when you throw in a celebrity owner such as colorful and creative designer Isaac Mizrahi, you’d think $7,900 per month to rent his home sounds too good to be true.

Fear not—your eyes don’t deceive you.

Naturally there are a couple of caveats. Mizrahi’s home is one of the smaller homes in the area, measuring a cozy 1,775 square feet.

Furthermore, Mizrahi purchased the three-bedroom, two-bath home only in December 2017 for $1.85 million, so he hasn’t had much time to put his unique stamp on the dwelling’s decor.

The designer does plan to renovate and redesign the place, according to listing agent Moji Hakim Zohourian. The agent says he’s looking for a tenant while waiting for the renovation permits to come through, which could take quite a while.

Meanwhile, Mizrahi is based in New York City and stays busy as chief designer of his eponymous brand and as a judge on “Project Runway: All Stars.”

Although the home is humble, its size could be working in its favor when it comes to tenants looking for a cheaper option. After all, the median rental price in this exclusive neighborhood is $11,500 a month, and the median listing price is a whopping $3,495,000.

The area comes with major benefits, according to Zohourian. It’s within walking distance of Horace Mann Elementary School (in one of the best school districts in the state), and also close to the Robertson area, with shopping and dining opportunities aplenty.

What are living conditions like in this Spanish-style home that was built in 1929? Among its nicer features are newer hardwood floors throughout and plenty of windows, some of them arched.

Adjacent to the dining room is a cozy living room with a fireplace and high ceiling. There’s also a small kitchen with new appliances, according to the listing.

At least one of the bathrooms has original, period tile, and the master bedroom features a patio with views of the yard with spots of grass, vines, trees, and flowers.

The property comes with a detached two-car garage and plenty of storage space.

While the rental dollar doesn’t stretch as far in Beverly Hills, a home with a celebrity landlord, great location, and solid school district are priceless.
