Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Marcus Trufant isn’t leaving his home state—but he is offering another lucky Washingtonian a chance to live in baller style. He recently put his six-bedroom Newcastle, WA, mansion on the market.
Excluding a brief preseason stay with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013, Trufant’s entire professional football career took place in the Pacific Northwest. After 10 seasons with the Seahawks, including one Pro Bowl appearance, he retired in 2014.
Built in 2007, his 10,000-square-foot, $3.25 million estate has all the makings of a dream home—for anyone but Trufant, whose next home will be custom-built, according to listing agent Sean Nielsen.
“The master suite is tranquil and peaceful,” Nielsen says. Wide windows overlook the adjacent golf course and Cougar Mountain in the distance. You could enjoy an evening nightcap on the attached balcony, or take a long soak in the spacious tub.
But it’s not all serenity and repose. Two “cool and swanky” aquariums flank the family room fireplace, Nielsen says. Kitchen cabinets are painted in Seahawks blue, and the black-and-white countertops offer an interesting color contrast.
However, the home’s best feature is downstairs, where a second, shiny red kitchen opens to the backyard and a plush theater room perfect for long NFL Sundays. Pass the nachos!
